HDG’s Sheena Sundin Achieves CPSM
HDG’s Marketing Manager, Sheena Sundin, recently earned her Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) credentials from the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). Sheena joined HDG in 2017, and as Marketing Manager she is responsible for leading and preparing all marketing activities to support the HDG brand and business development activities. Sheena has twelve years of marketing experience including preparing proposals and presentations, coordinating marketing and public relations efforts, and coordinating and attending conferences, industry, and client events.
Sheena holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She is the 2018-2019 President of the SMPS Pittsburgh Chapter. She has been a member of SMPS since 2007, and has held a number of different roles on the SMPS Pittsburgh Chapter Board since that time. Sheena is also Vice Chair and Public Awareness Committee Chair of the Southwesten Pennsylvania Engineering Outreach (SPEO).
When she learned she had passed the CPSM exam, Sheena commented, “After working in the A/E/C industry for more than ten years, I thought it was time to challenge myself to take the exam to become a CPSM. For me, certification was a way to learn about some of the areas I haven’t had as much experience with, and reinforce all that I’ve learned so far. Becoming a CPSM is a culmination of that education and experience – it’s a career achievement recognized not only by my peers, but among other licensed professionals in the industry. If you’ve considered getting your CPSM but haven’t taken those steps just yet, I encourage you to go for it!”
The CPSM designation serves as a mark of distinction for professional services marketers and business developers. CPSMs are recognized for achieving a rigorous standard of experience and expertise in marketing professional services and demonstrating their knowledge of the practice and related disciplines through a thorough examination of marketing competency. SMPS is the only organization dedicated to creating business opportunities in the A/E/C industry, offering leadership and professional development opportunities, industry research, educational and relationship-building events, and marketing resources.
