The Hayes Design Group New Office Open House

The Hayes Design Group – Architects (HDG) recently celebrated its new office space with a Chinese New Year themed Open House. According to the Chinese zodiac forecasters, 2017 is the year of the rooster, which is centered on moving forward.
“We were thrilled to celebrate our firm’s new chapter and moving forward in a new office space with our clients at the Open House,” stated Kevin Hayes, Principal and Founder. “Our clients are an integral part of our success and it was great to celebrate our good fortune with the extended HDG family.”
In addition to Chinese themed food and decorations, the new office received blessings from Bishop David Zubik of the Diocese of Pittsburgh and Father Mike Salvagna of St. Paul of the Cross Monastery, who were in attendance at the event.
Construction of the new HDG office space started in August 2016 and was completed in December of 2016. The scope of the work included, demolition of an existing 4,800 SF space and constructing a new office layout with spacious open workstations, multiple enclosed offices, conference rooms, kitchen, and a central multipurpose area for receptions, lunches, seminars and informal gatherings.
The design focused on the maximization of natural daylighting and views to the outside into the forested setting of the building. Energy efficiency was also a focus through establishment of multiple heating/cooling zones, use of LED fixtures and solar shades. The design also included several special AV features such as large screen monitors throughout to encourage a collaborative design thinking process. The end result of the design is the creation of a serene environment that will better serve the employees to be inspired, creative and relaxed.
The new space will accommodate recent staff additions and the future growth of the firm. In 2016, the firm added three new staff members and was recently awarded several new projects, including construction of the Robinson Township Municipal Complex and a new water treatment plant in North Fayette County in partnership with Senate Engineering.
